December 1st,

a perfectly snowy start to the Christmas season.

We had a party!

We love a good party, this one was to introduce our friends and family to our beautiful new shop.   Having fretted that nobody would come, we had 148 signatures in our visitors book of the bravest of the brave, intrepid in the extreme on the coldest night of the year so far.   The snow fell beautifully in tiny crisp granules as if for effect not wetting nor settling.

Thank you all those who came, we had such a happy time.

Delicious canapes provided by our dear Ross Jordan, exquisite roast beef, smoked salmon and the dearest little chocolate Christmas puddings. Tony and Sarah Palmer provided the best roast chestnuts I have ever eaten perfect little warm bags to thaw frozen fingers (s.jpalmer81@yahoo.com). Going home presents were handkerchiefs printed with a 1954 map of London highlighting CABBAGES & ROSES growing chain of shops.

We now have three!!

CABBAGES & ROSES OPENS ON AVERY ROW

Cabbages & Roses is delighted to announce the opening of its new W1 London store on Avery Row, Mayfair’s premium shopping destination.         Christina Strutt’s distinctive aesthetic is showcased over two floors of Fashion and Homeware. The Grade 2 listed building, has been lovingly restored, with original features: fireplace, exposed brickwork and artworks in Cabbages & Roses quintessentially British style.

The handmade fashion collection mixes tartan, velvet, cashmere, and taffeta in a range of vintage-style designs.  A super-luxurious dressing room, clad in Toile de Poulet fabric completes the unique shopping experience.

The home collection of fabrics, cushions and one-of-a-kind vintage finds are handpicked by Christina herself.
